Winning My Wife

She Keeps Calling

She's contacted me pretty much every day since she went to New York. We chatted on the phone last night for at least twenty minutes. It was really nice.

I am starting to relax and calm down, and get back into a regular schedule. The kids are holding up well, and I've almost burnt a whole week. Three-and-a-half more to go.

Keep praying, please.

  • You have a heart of steel. And in your case that's a good thing. Most would crack under this kind of abuse. Yet, you take 3rd & 4th helpings and you still ask for more. I personally do not understand this kind of love. I guess youre a lot like the biblical Hosea. He married a prostitute, and even though she still went out, and slept with other men after they were married, he still took her back everytime she came home. He wooed her back into his arms. Maybe his story will encourage you.

  • One of my faves, as a matter of fact...

  • Wow, just wow. I think I dated a guy very much like your wife in college. Disaster.
I really believe that the right person brings out the best in you, and makes you feel like your ten feet tall.
I don't know if having this type of woman in your life is considered winning.

  • Thank you for all your comments and support.

    I feel that because I

    (a) had an "emotional affair" (non-sexual) for two years behind her back,
    (b) pined after the Other Woman for two years after the affair ended, despite Lady's constant efforts to win my heart, and
    (c) lived in pretty much constant depression for ten years (save the two years the affair was going on)

...I would say that it's acceptable that the relationship is, for the time being, entirely unbalanced and unfair. In fact, she freely admits that the relationship is unbalanced and unfair, and that if we get back together it can't continue on the way it is.

I'm completely, totally, madly in love with her, like I probably never was before. She's not in love with me. But she's at least willing to consider my attempts to win her heart back.

It's only been 130 days since I fell in love with her. I have 5000 bad days to make up for...
